In the story Monkeyman, Walter Dean Myers tells a story about someone named Monkeyman living in Harlem when he angered a posse of which called themselves the Tigros. The Tigros went on to hunt monkeys, even waiting outside his school until they met at a park that night, where the conflict was peacefully resolved. Myers demonstrates that having the courage to take risks will be very beneficial for the people able to suppress their fear. Steves name was mentioned when King and Evans were discussing the plans for the fatal crime.
