Today starts my journey to the new world, as James Smith our captain boldly leads us to our uncertain future many tales of large deposits of gold were told to be waiting for us in the new world. Oh, What may lay ahead is something of untold horrors or even a land infested with savages that yell and scream when they meet you.Captain John Smith the shortest that what lies ahead will make us rich beyond our dreams. We have been out at sea for 3 months and 3 people have died along the way.I can't believe just how long it will be until I myself die from the filthy environment we live on the ship. As we walk up onto the shore we are quickly introduced to the rather strange acting people who don't speak our superficial language. They came to John Smith talking about how we were on their land, John Smith dismissed this and gave the Indians a few beads he found on the ship and offered it as a treaty of peace. The Indians took the treaty and left but as I wonder would we see them again would they be lingering around? We got quickly back to work looking gold as we are promised, but there was no gold to be found we wondered if this is all a lie to make the pave the way to the richer and more privileged to settle in the new world. I that this that a husband turned to cannibalism and ate her wife just to stay alive for a few more days. of course dear that such a thing would happen I secretly stashed on loads of food before the winter knowing that this could all happen if there were no gold to be found. All I hear about now a days’ are atrocities about stores getting pillaged over food which was a commodity that was easily obtained just a few months earlier. It is pretty clear that there is no gold to be found so we looked around for other ways to make money in Jamestown nevertheless there's nothing to be made and all attempts of making it big are shut down for one reason or another.
