Often in Smith’s speech she manifests simple anaphoras on the sentence level to portray her personal opinion. The three different anaphoras Smith establishes to shed light on her dispositions, are “I think that it is high time,”, “I am not proud,” and “I condemn”. Each of these sets Smith up to display her discontent with the Senate and how she hopes for a more dignified regime in the future. Smith’s anaphora in the beginning of her speech, “I think that it is high time,” implements exaggeration of her vexation towards the issues within the Senate that have been present for far too long. When she places the “high” in front of “time” it forms a new meaning to her repetition.

A graduate of Le Moyne University, Mr. Brown has become one of the most respected and highly regarded members of our Saratoga Springs Community. Whether teaching about his favorite President, James K. Polk, or dauntlessly leading his girls volleyball team into a sectional match, I have never failed to see Mr. Brown give less than one hundred percent. In my experience in his United States History course, I saw Mr. Brown’s ability to connect with each of his students.

Naming them individually he’s trying connect with each family personally.
Speeches are used to commemorate points of history, and inform the general public of the product of their history but what makes a speech so impacting on it’s audience? Rhetorical devices give speeches and works of literature a way that can convey feelings or ideas to a viewer. When addressing during times of war or chaos, people such as Ronald Reagan, Abraham Lincoln, and Winston Churchill used these terms to better connect with their audience. Without these tools of the english language, dialogue and literature would be all the more dull and unappealing. However, with these useful instruments, writers and speakers can better communicate through some of the many rhetorical devices.
Hi Daniel. From reading your post, you seem like a pretty chill person! I’m very surprised that in your group of friends in middle school there wasn’t a ‘leader’. Usually, there is that one person that tends to stand out a little bit more than the rest, and sometimes without necessarily wanting too, they are seen as the head of the group. But, I think it’s a lot better to not have that ‘leader’, that way no one feels peer pressured to do something.
Chapter 19 describes a scenario that the most critical time on earth is the current opportunity and the period between 1966 and 1973 serves as the time of the narration. The story teaches human beings that no one would be certain what happens in their lives tomorrow. Enjoyment of the life and opportunity that one has currently would be the highest honour one would do to self (Kittay). The scenario that ensued in the presence of Deborah after she conceived and when she got the child would serve as a practical example of the above assertion. Some Experts’ Opinions You might see him on Fox news or maybe shouting in a courtroom, the adjunct professor from Georgetown, Dr. Michael Sheuer, or simply, “Mike”, has major concerns about the way American’s foreign policy has been handled in recent years. The choice isn 't between war and peace. It is between war and endless war , in this age of warfare, the purpose of conflicts that our leaders drag us into, become uncertain as the deaths multiply. Mike has a valid point. During his career running operations in the CIA, the Bin Laden case is a standout, so it is important that people of opposing views at least take a minute to consider his steady, keen outcry against the way American leaders deal with foreign allies.
Past leaders such as Andrew Jackson, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Marc Antony are evidence that society does not reward morality and good character in leadership. Society is drawn to leaders that have good rhetoric, propaganda, and charismatic personalities, and society supports them despite their immorality. Society is concerned about stability more than the morality of their leaders and will support immoral leaders in times of crisis to provide stability. In history there have been multiple leaders that have used rhetoric, propaganda and charismatic personalities to gain power, despite their morals.
Many folks of the Hispanic race were appalled on several misunderstood speeches I have made. My intentions were not to target anyone in specific knowing the more people on my side the better outcome in the Presidential election. There have been articles about me that I have manipulated bankruptcy laws to enrich myself, also racial comments made. In other hand people have made accusations that I am untrustworthy. I need to apologize for the mistakes said or done as well for the miscommunication I gave to the citizens of the United States.
Taylor Scuorzo d Rhetorical Analysis 3/20/23 Rhetorical Analysis Doing benevolent and selfless things for others can occasionally lead to adverse results. In his enlightening and illuminating commencement address given at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on May 19, 2018, Jason Reynolds emotionally persuades and informs the graduates at the college through the use of anecdotes and metaphors to show that ignoring the significant problems of the world will not help us fix them. To strengthen his speech, Reynolds uses past personal experiences and the comparison of objects to others to help prove the theme portrayed throughout the speech.
The United States is made up of some of the most diverse and interesting cultures in the world. Jamila Lyiscott proves this by showing her different dialects and how they are all equally important. Lyiscott believes that the way she speaks towards her parents, towards her friends, and towards her colleagues are all one in the same. Throughout the entirety of her speech, Lyiscott changes up her vocal patterns and dialects so that the audience can understand first hand what each of these dialects are. When she talks about her father, Lyiscott uses her native tongue, when she talks to her fellow neighbors and close friends she switches it up to a more urbanized dialect, and when she is in school she masks the other two dialects with a professional sounding language.
Kathryn Stockett successfully uses rhetorical devices to get the reader to feel and understand the perspectives of the protagonists. Stockett uses pathos, ethos, and logos in her book, since the book about social injustice. The topics in the book range from inequality of the sexes to social classes and racism, Stockett is successful in getting the reader to reflect while reading the book and the themes of the book have a clear presence. We see Stockett use ethos and pathos in the very first chapters when we learn that Hilly doesn't like Minny and Minny doesn't want to say why at first, but the incident with Ms. Holbrook was affecting her chances of getting a job because of the influence Hilly has over this suburban society. In some instances where Stockett uses ethos, pathos is also included in her writing.
In this passage, Charlotte Perkins Gilman highlights the theme that women must use their intellect or go mad through the use of literary qualities and writing styles. Gilman also uses the use of capital letters to portray the decline in the narrators’ sanity. This shows the decline in the sanity of a person because the words in all-caps is shown as abrupt, loud remarks. Gilman uses this method multiple times in her short story and this method was used twice in this passage. When the narrator wrote, “LOOKING AT THE PAPER!”, the major decline in her mental health was shown.
Part of Chapter 4 discusses the Rhetorical Elements and Cognate Strategies. The Rhetorical Elements applies to verbal or speech, however, it provides foundation toward writing. A combination of the speech fundamental and the understanding leads to good writing. The following contents will discuss five of nine elements that will promote good business writing.
