The owners of the club, brothers Stanley and Jack Carroll, were charged with multiple counts of involuntary manslaughter and pleaded guilty to one count each. They were sentenced to 20 years in prison, but their sentences were later reduced to 11 years. The club's electrical contractor, Melvin David Pendarvis, was also charged with involuntary manslaughter and pleaded guilty to two counts. He was sentenced to five years in prison.
