I see many people as great leaders. My favorite leader is Moses, from the Old Testament. His qualities are bravery, faithfulness, persistence, and humility. This is my essay about Moses and how I can have these qualities myself. The main events in Moses’ life show his bravery. When he came up to Pharaoh and said, “Let my people go!” God gave him power. He struggled with speech and stuttering, but God helped him overcome this also. Pharaoh could have killed Moses for telling him this, but in the end he freed the Israelites. In the story of the burning bush (before freeing Israel), God said to him, “You are standing on Holy Ground!” (Exodus 3:5) Moses feared the Lord, but in a way that honored God. When he lead Israel, he stood as a leader when no one else did, even though he doubted himself. However, he still fulfilled God’s plan for him. I shouldn’t doubt myself, but like Moses, I should fulfill God’s plan for my life. When he crossed the Red Seas, (when he was leading Israel) they all had to have faith in order for the seas to part. He was a great leader, but he complained and told God that he was a nobody, and that he couldn’t do it.
