The genesis of our country dates back 238 years ago when our forefathers wrote and signed The Declaration of Independence from Great Britain to commence on a new journey. Along the way, lives were broken and wars were fought just to get everything figured out for us, but fast forward to a couple 100 years later and you can see just how amazing this place really is. Over the course of these years, America has shifted and shaped as to what we know today as the 21st century, United States of America. Many people 's views have shuffled, the way we talk and communicate are both lazy and advanced and our hair and clothing styles are all very different from back then. One reason why immigrants moved to America back in the early 1800’s, was for religious freedom. Sadly, still to this day people are being persecuted for their faith, but luckily we live in a place that welcomes all religions. We can go to church every Sunday or celebrate different religious holidays. How lucky are we. Another great thing about our country is we can live where we want. Citizens have the freedom to move around and get a feel for new places. Get a feel for the diversity here in the U.S. While others can’t. The freedom to be able to live where and how we want is a great freedom we have here.

One of the most important religious freedoms we have been given is the right to pursue a job, college, career or any other future plans we acquire. If you want to become a doctor, become a doctor. If you want to become a musician and play in wonderful orchestras until you 're 60 years old, you can do that. America is a land filled with opportunities. Where freedom is abundant and American dreams are pursued every day.

American society today is built up of these very freedoms and plus many more. What we are able to do, and live, and what or how we pursue the things we love. This is what it means to be an American. To live in a nation with awesome rights and freedoms. To be in a place you can gladly call home. There 's no other diverse, well striving country like this one. We are sure blessed to live in a country like this. There are no others
