Although she had been averse to the project given to her, she gradually began to like it. It was the only class she actually tried her best at, as an outlet to express herself, even if it was just the slightest bit. Over the next couple weeks, Melinda started to eat lunch with Heather and went on a couple trips to Heather’s home. The two formed an unhealthy friendship where Heather did about 90 percent of the talking, as she was much more social then Melinda. She wanted to be popular, however, which meant joining a one of the many cliques of high school.
Just imagine if you lost someone who was extremely immediate or someone you barely even knew. Afterall, they’re two completely different situations, but both Wes’s encountered one or the other. Many children experience this complication and don’t always turn out to be at their highest quality. Moreover, leaving them with a boundless affect, having they just lost someone remarkable to them. In The Other Wes Moore, The lives of two young men are examined through three distinct lenses, how the role our environment, social capital (How we get ahead by helping each other) and how our mindset can dictate who we become later on in life. Both of these young men grew up in roughly the same environment, the ghettos of Baltimore, Maryland and the Bronx, New York, respectively.

The things that a person does in their lifetime that leads to the end of the road comes along with many accomplishments and even more failure along the way. There are some things that can prevent these defeating things from happening such as a good supportive family and having role models in life. As exemplified by the memoir The Other Wes Moore, the author suggests that regardless of environment, lives can end up entirely divergent due to family support, choices and consequences.
Jeremy Fink has a big fear of change. This shows that he doesn’t really like to try new things and he is not really a risk taker. Jeremy, a 12 year old, has been living without his father for five years now and that has been tough on him. That is one of the reasons he doesn’t like change, because the biggest change he can remember is living without his father. Another example is Jeremy’s food choice.

Jefferson's meaningful relationships with Grant and other characters help him to realize he is human and help him become one again. Grants meaningful relationships with Jefferson and others help him improve his mental state and change how he thinks.
Marcus Solomon is a senior, and you will never see him frowning or in a bad mood. In the many years that I have known him, since kindergarten matter of fact I have never seen him in a bad mood or hear from others of him in a bad mood. This has created an extremely lovable reputation for Marcus, always able to crack a joke and lighten the mood. Marcus is on the Varsity Boys Basketball Team, and he displays his determination through the sport, showing heart for everything he commits to. His friends absolutely love him, and his smile is something that you cannot miss.

The use of the silkworm metaphor invites the audience to uncover the dark secrets of Tom Leyton 's mysterious past. The introduction of the character Joseph Davidson provides the author with a catalyst to open the metaphor of the silkworm and take the reader on a journey to understand the life experiences of Tom Leyton. Joseph Davidson, who is portrayed as someone with poor self esteem is also described as an outsider. The running man is used by the author to reveal the experiences of Joseph Davidson and demonstrate his growth of becoming less marginalised throughout the novel.
Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak is an interesting children’s picture book. The main character is a little boy named Max, who has a wild imagination. He uses all five senses as well as thought and his actions to express his personality as well as how he reacts and interacts with his surroundings. Max’s id, ego and super-ego are greatly shown in this book through the way that the author has portrayed him. Not only is this book a children’s story, but it can also be perceived as a life lesson.
By gaining new allies and friends, finding a passion in art, and being able to express herself and confide in people, she becomes stronger. With this, the tone develops and changes while it slowly adapts when Melinda again talks about her closet saying, “I hang out in my refurbished closet. It is shaping up nicely… Maya Angelou’s picture watches me while I sweep and mop the floor, while I scrub the shelves, while I chase the spiders out of the corners. I do a little bit of work everyday…

After losing her job, she goes against her family’s request and gets the dangerous job of a bounty hunter. She gets assigned Joe Morelli, who was accused of murder and who happened to be a childhood enemy. Stephanie is very inexperienced and receives help from a professional bounty hunter, Ranger.
