Mr. Hyde was shunned and outcast by Mr. Utterson and probably many other people in their society. Mr. Hyde was considered bad because he was a brute who was accused of evil actions on a few separate occasions. If he was in our modern society we would charge him for his inhuman deeds. This would eventually lead to him being a convicted felon and serve time in our prison system. We know the act of killing someone is considered immoral and unjust but why? When we were children our parents taught us it was wrong, but who taught our parents? The idea that murdering someone is wrong has been passed down from generation to generation.
