It's 3pm, 40 degrees outside,1956, I'm on my bike sitting outside the bookstore waiting for my brother Joseph to come out. Ms.Tuddler ,the owner, banned me because I brought in all the stray dogs in the neighborhood to read to them at 4 in the morning. She was clearly over reacting I only had to break one window and the dogs barely even broke 5 lamps but I still wasn't allowed on the premises. So as I was pacing impatiently across the street waiting for Joseph to find a historical fiction book for his social studies class when I overheard Mr. Madoo mumbling to his self "...midnight..back of the lands well.....beast". Usually I don't automatically believe anything Mr. Madoo goes around saying but this time was different. He was the smartest and richest person that had ever been from our town ,but ever since his wife went missing without a trace he'd been obsessed with finding her. There was a lot of talk lately around the town about something mystical eating all the sheep and leaving the bones dry with nothing else but a pile of wool ,so Mr. Madoo was starting to sound pretty believable. When Joseph finally came out of the bookstore I told him all about the "beast".
