Murakami Writing Style Analysis

Both Didion and Murakami use writing as a form of expression. Their writing style has its differences but both writers believe writing is about expressing oneself. Both Murakami and Didion’s ideas are derived from their backgrounds. A notable similarity in their writing is the creative use of storytelling and metaphors. Why I Write by Joan Didion, brought me to conclusion that Didion used writing as a way to find herself. In her writing she says, "Had my credentials been in order I would never have become a writer. Had I been blessed with even the limited access to my own mind there would have been no reason to write." (Didion, 2) she tell us how wringing helped her discover her true self and without it she would have been lost.
