1. Two movies that I have seen that have an external conflict are Murder on the Orient Express, and Titanic. In Murder on the Orient Express, a man is murdered on a train and no one knows who the killer is. Detective Hercule Pôirot happens to be on the train. He is known as the best detective in the world, yet he can’t find out either. Just as the characters think the situation can’t get any worse, the train wrecks. They are stranded. In Titanic, the boat that all the characters are on hits an iceberg and sinks. Many people struggle in the freezing waters to get to a lifeboat, while others die. Two movies that I have seen where there is an internal conflict are Inside Out and The Lion King. In Inside Out, Riley is having a hard time adjusting to her new life living in a different city. Her emotions in her mind, who are characters in the movie, keep driving her crazy trying to avoid sadness. An example of person/himself in a movie is the conflict that Moana has with herself when she is trying to decide whether she needs to go beyond the reef. Part of her agrees with her father and she thinks that it would be safer to stay on the island, but then part of her just wants to go and see the world. An example of person/supernatural in a movie is FernGully is Crysta against Hexxus, an oil monster who is trying to cut down all the trees in her forest.
