Conflict centers around mainly a dynamic character in which he has to face a certain obstacles that might put himself or others in endanger. Conflict can happen I two types of areas, internally or externally. When the character confronts the problem he may either overcome or be consumed by its very essence. Once that decision is met a change occurs within the character’s behavior emerges as they’re going through with it (conflict).Characters that experience these sudden changes are the three friends from “The Pardoner’s Tale” (Geoffrey Chaucer), Grendel from “Beowulf” (anonymous poet), and the knight from “The Wife of Bath’s Tale” (Geoffrey Chaucer). The dire circumstance that a person in the story is involved in contributes to their change in attributes. The three friends in “The Pardoners Tale” (Geoffrey Chaucer) were on a mission to kill Death, who people thought was a human being. The people weren’t cognizant that Death was actually a plague, a disease that killed many people who came in contact with it. In pages 182, lines 63-64, states this “And of that maiden, spite of all she said by the very force he took her maidenhead.” Furthermore in lines 65-67(same page) it also states “This act pf violence made such a stir so much petitioning to the king for her.
