A visit to the museum of memory and human rights (Museo de la memoria y derechos humanos) provides a glimpse into life during Chile’s dictatorship years. The museum is dedicated to commemorate the victims of human rights violations during the civic-regime led by Augusto Pinochet between 1973 and 1990. Visitors describe the museum 's collections of stories and objects as enlightening, yet somber. According to a Tripadvisor user, “The stories, the pictures, and artifacts are amazing, if somewhat chilling. It is important to learn these lessons so they won’t happen again.”
