What does it meant to be american? In america we might have conflicts like diversity, political problems, and more. America also has some amazing aspects to it we have freedom. With us having freedom that means that we can believe in any religion, have freedom of speech, and much more. In america we have a great military, army, and marines. America is a great place to come because we have great job opportunities and education for kids.
In america there are lots of opportunites weather thats jobs, activities clubs. In the story “Music For My Mother” we learn how there are lots of opportunities in america by stating “ I am a teacher this summer I will be taking my son, Michael, to visit his grandparents. He is twelve, he wants to learn to play the Guitar.” (Pearson, 7). When I read this in my mind I think that being a teacher is a job opportunity and learning how to play the guitar is an opportunity he is given. When I was 12 my Grandparents got me a guitar for christmas and they tried to teach me how to play. The minority of people have jobs or are involved in something that is what is means to be american.
