Throughout high school, I excelled in the classroom and I pride myself in this accomplishment. I currently on course for receiving an Academic Honors diploma come graduation at the end of May. An academic Honor diploma requires each student to take at least three years of a foreign language, at least 2 Advanced Placement classes, and all honors courses for each class, if provided. Occasionally, keeping up with all these high level classes posed a challenge, especially with extra curricular activities, but staying focused on achieving superb grades for collegiate purposes earnestly reassured me to continue to work hard. My current GPA is 4.046, which I am extremely proud of and this GPA ranked me 9th out of 140 students in the senior class. Although I am not in the top five out of my classmates and will not be giving a speech on graduation day, however, being in the top ten out of over a hundred students is still an achievement that should be praised. My sophomore year of high school I was able to enter National Honors Society that spring. As well as getting recognition for excellent grades, it has offered me the opportunity to work on leadership roles and also helped me get involved with the community. For volleyball, this year I received the Academic All State Honorable Mention award. This is a special award because to receive this award the individual has to meet both GPA and SAT/ACT standards to be considered for the award. In addition, I received the Richard G. Lugar Academic Award from the University of Indianapolis, where I will be attending in the fall.
