My Career As A Teacher

As a little girl, I always played to be a teacher, but I never thought that one day being a teacher was going to be my goal. Now, I do not see myself with a different career other than working as a teacher. I like to help people with whatever I can, and I knew that I wanted a career where I can contribute to the community. However, I was not sure what kind of career was ideal for me. During my high school years, I debated between different professions, but thanks to some great teachers that I had, I was able to decide that I want to be an elementary teacher.
By observing how some teachers are passionate about their profession, I became motivated to also become a teacher. When I first began going to College of the Sequoias, I wanted to become a high school Spanish teacher. However, at the end of my first semester, I decided that I want to teach younger children. One of the reasons I decided to change my major is because I believe that it is important to motivate students from an early age. While working as a Mini Corps tutor, I saw how some students did not have the motivation at home for their education so I want to motivate every student. I believe that as a teacher, we have the power to impact every child in a positive way. This is one of the main reasons why the job of a teacher attracted me the most. Not only can teachers educate students, but we can also help them with different needs they might have.
