It is commonly believed that dreaming is the relationship between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind, for these allow people to act upon their true emotions. To analyze dreams, one must understand that each individual is different, thus, there are no strict outlines to follow. Consequently, to have a better grasp of the understanding of dreams, it is imperative to consider the larger context of an individual’s sense of self and her or his surroundings.
As I analyze my dream journal, I have realized that my dreams are a reflection of my worries about the future. The reason why this is the most disturbing dream I had during this time, is because as I came to the realization that they were right, after reading the scale that showed my weight, I saw my whole body change right in front of my eyes as I looked down. Dreams such as this one, allowed me to reach the conclusion that these innately demonstrate my inner fears and insecurities, regardless of whether or not I acknowledge them. As a young child, I had some weight issues I was very insecure about, and although I believed these no longer affected me as I have grown up, I have noticed through my dreams that the possibility of going back to that state does indeed frighten me. Additionally, although there were not any specific symbols or objects in my dreams, I do see a pattern in that money seems to reappear in different dreams. Moreover, dreams have also come to show me things I have dismissed throughout the day. Like for example, nights in which I forgot to eat dinner or did not have time to, I most likely had dreams in which food appeared. The effect of these types of dreams reached the extent to which I actually woke up during the middle of the night with pains in my stomach, wanting to eat something. Also, my dreams have come to show things that interest me and what I want for myself in the future, as notable with the dream in which I was decorating a beautiful modern house. They also depict events that have taken place during the day, like when I corrected a teacher for a mistake with my grade and the mathematical equations that appeared after studying for hours the same
