I can best be described as a writer. Through writing, I incorporate my interests, experiences and thoughts into words. Writing challenges me to see things from other perspectives, allowing me to learn more about myself and the topics I write about. It is my greatest means of self-expression and I am able to dream up fantastical worlds that only belong to me and the characters in the stories I write.
My passion for writing was sparked by a yeti at the top of Mount Everest. When I was in third grade, I had a class assignment to write about an expedition climbing to the top of Mount Everest. This was thrilling for me, and although it was an in-class assignment, I decided to bring it home and continue working on it. When I showed my teacher the final draft, she loved the unique perspective and the twist I put at the end of the story: the expedition had to fight the yeti at the top of the mountain before returning home. I knew then that writing was my passion and began spending my spare time writing stories in countless notebooks and on my mom’s old laptop.

I wanted to try my hand at other genres rather than the fictional short stories I always wrote, and quickly came to love researching for and writing articles. I incorporated my other interests, such as history, arts and music, into my writing and used article assignments to further research topics that interested me. I was a passionate and dedicated staff member, attending all meetings and even volunteering to write additional articles when the number of staff dwindled as the school year
