~ Anna Strong ~ A woman of extreme courage 。 Strong is a fitting name for a woman of valor and strength. Anna Smith Strong was a very courageous woman who assisted our country tremendously during the American Revolutionary War. She demonstrated an immense amount of bravery through her work, and I believe we can learn an immense amount about courage when reflecting upon her life. Anna Smith Strong is remembered as a courageous, influential character in American history because of her position in the Culper Spy Ring, the most illustrious spy group in the Revolutionary War.
My partner is Cathryn Cusano, she has lived in Easton, Pennsylvania throughout her entire life. Cathryn has a love for softball and has played ever since she was a little girl. During Cathryn’s senior year of high school she had multiple offers to play softball for elite colleges in the area. She started out having an amazing season, the team was also thriving which eventually resulted in them making it to the playoffs. It was the first round of playoffs and Cathryn was on first base, one of her teammates was up to bat.
My visit with Stefanie Ammiano, NP was terrific. The members of the staff were kind, professional and efficient. Stefanie saw me with very little wait time. She did a complete interview and assessment of my body. All of her suggestions were appropriate and thoughtful.
Prior to World War 2 Jewish people were the main family or culture that the Nazi’s been feeding off of and killing approximately 6,000 each day. Which led to 6.5 million Jews dead at the end of the war and a few survivors. Although one of these few survivors was Otto Frank, father of Anne Frank, Diarist of one of the most famous diaries, “The Diary of Anne Frank.” World War 2 was a devastating event that changed how Jews lived because because they were said to be “Divergent.” How I felt about the events covered in the Diary of Anne Frank was dramatically depressing.
It is a normal day in fourth grade. I am continuously stumping my classmates academically; however, students also make fun of my accent and unbreakable pattern of defeat in my Physical Education, P.E class. I have come to accept my lack of athleticism, and am giving up on my dream to become an athlete. Yet deep down inside, it still matters to me that no one wants me on their team. I disguise my dreadful athleticism from my classmates by acting careless and uninterested in the game.
It 's Izabella Katz. My mother bought me a beautiful diary as gift for my my 18th birthday almost two years ago and this is my fist time using it. It 's new year thanks to God and I 've never kept a diary before but with all of the events that have happened to me and everything currently occurring, I knew I couldn 't forget anything and if anyone else found this book, I wanted them to hear my story. I 'm just an average 19 year old girl who loves writing and literature and has had a lot of things happen to me in these past crazy decade.
Maggie on the other hand, is characterized by her unattractiveness and timidity. Her skin is scarred from the fire that had happened ten or twelve years ago. Those scars she has on her body in the same way have scarred her soul leaving her ashamed. She “stumbles” in her reading, but Mrs. Johnson loves her saying she is sweet and is the daughter she can sing songs at church with, but more so that Maggie is like an image of her. She honors her family’s heritage and culture, by learning how to quilt and do things in the household, like her mother views their heritage.
In literature, writers use a variety of points of view to convey their plot; these points of view can be first person, second person, or third person. In “The Tell-Tale Heart”, the unnamed narrator describes he or she killing an old man. “Harrison Bergeron” is a dystopian story about Americans in the future that have handicaps in order for them to be equal. “A Good Man is Hard to Find” tells the story of a grandmother and her family taking a trip to Florida that went wrong.
Toby is an interesting character and we can 't help but wonder what he knew and why he stayed until the day of Miss Emily 's death. I think it is completely reasonable to assume that Toby knew that Homer was dead in the bed upstairs and perhaps even knew that Miss Emily went up there to be with the dead body. How could he not know that the horrid smell that had nieghbors calling for action was actually coming from the upper floors of the house he was responsible for? Then you ask yourself why didn 't he say something, do something, or just leave? It must have been so awful!
Who runs the world? Girls. Laurel Thatcher wrote that “Martha Ballard was as independent as an eighteenth-century housewife could be” In her essay she analyzes the diary of Martha Ballard; a midwife in the 18th century, who recorded her experiences and work on a daily basis in her diary. Laurel Thatcher proves that Martha Ballard was an exceptional independent woman who was also constrained by the expectations put on midwifes. Thatcher portrayed the quality of women’s lives through the life of Martha Ballard and the women around her.
This story is abut a girl that was writing her daily days while she was in the holocaust She was venting her fears and frustrations, and contemplating her everyday life. She was given the diary as a present from her parents in 1942, and named it Kitty. Through her diary writing, Anne Frank was in many ways her own counsellor in a time of great suffering and tribulation. She realized that writing down her thoughts and feelings could help her cope with the anxiety of the war and Nazi persecution.
In conclusion,Alice Walker used two characters to carry out a deeper meaning of a short story. It showed similarities and differences to my family, and the family in “Everyday use”. Also it show how maggie and Dee are two very different characters. Maggie and Dee didn 't share a bond with each other throughout their, but I am glad my brothers and I
