Rhetoric, or the act of persuasion, is a way to reason and influence individuals through a speech or a form of media. Developing a skill such as that takes time, that’s why it’s best to be proficient in rhetoric’s proverbial best friend – writing. Throughout my life I have written numerous reports, papers, and assignments on a myriad of topics. In fact, creative writing is a treasured past time, and while I do not own any published works, I’ve created eight stories and have begun the creative process of putting pen to paper. This leads me to the purpose of this assignment: I am to write a rhetorical assessment of the situations I’ve face during some of my writing. I will go through three examples: my discussion post for Dr. King’s amazing speech I have a dream, my latest discussion post about corruption in the gaming industry, and lastly – my creative writing.

I have written to thee! However, although heavily influenced by it, fans of science fiction are not the main audience I intend to capture. The book covers very deep topics and if handled the wrong way, I can completely turn of any audience to this novel. On the other hand, from first glance it is easy to jump into as you ride it all the way to the end. This story was originally for the video game medium, but for now it shall stay as a book whenever it’s completed. Another medium that would mesh well with it are comic books. It all just depends on the reception that the books receive (if they ever release). Lastly, the tone. Looking at my writing, it seems to be humorous as of my last written page, but eventually the tone shifts to become something serious. Serious, but never taking itself too
