I must admit I am not a heavy reader, initially I was not excited but after I grooved myself into the book I found it it to be very entertaining. This movie has a huge impact on young children behaviour and has influenced children in constructing gender roles in the society. ‘Little Giants’ has shown the characteristic of the main character to be abnormal and changing the gender stereotypes in young audiences’ perspective.
Girls typically are assigned the role of caretaker and nurse for the younger children. The girls are trained to take care of the infants, which allows for the children’s mother to go out and gather. Boys are not typically given the role of caretaker for the younger siblings. This chore delegation forces girls to stay closer to the camp while the boys can venture farther off. In addition, this chore shapes passivity and a nurturing side in young girls, creating small gender roles at a young age.

In this paper I will be discussing how Boys and Girls Clubs are used as a deterrence method to keep “at-risk” children off the streets. In the movie “Miss Evers Boys”, Nurse Eunice Evers takes an offer to work with two doctors on a program that was federally funded to treat patients afflicted with the syphilis disease in Tuskegee Alabama. The patients were only men and they agreed to take part in it because of the free treatment. After a while the program ended and money was offered to conduct an experiment. The experiment was the study of the effects of the syphilis disease on these men, specifically African Americans, whom didn’t receive treatment. Nurse Evers finds out from doctor Brodus that the four hundred plus men along with 200 uninfected men who served as controls, will be studied and not treated.
