My Path Anita said “you’re really talented with your feet.” With a grin on my face, I realized that I was born to be an athlete! At age five my family and I would always go to parties. I danced all day long making my feet exhausted like a person running a marathon. Although I love to dance, I also have a big passion for soccer. When I kicked my first soccer ball I realized how much I loved soccer. These two things, dance and soccer were a big conflict in my life until that one special day. Ever since I was a little boy my mom would always yell at me, with a vicious face, “Edgar stop running around the house it’s already late, go to sleep!” I just couldn’t help myself, I was like an animal trying to catch it’s prey. This was because all the younger divisions were too easy for me and I needed more competition. I played with much older guys throughout 2 years. I took a break from soccer during the summer, to be dancing. This could have been the worst decision ever or the best one. During the summer I met Anita, Benny, Bryant, Brandon, and Mere. They are all professional dancers. They together own a dance studio. The first person I met was Anita. Anita was the one that recognized me as a dancer. She put me in a professional chambelan team, and there’s where I met Anita’s son’s Benny, Bryant, and Brandon. A chambelan is a guy who performs a choreographed dances in a woman 's Quinceanera party. After about a month or so Anita asked me if I could join her professional Bachata team. Bachata came from the Dominican Republic and is a really popular dance for Latinos. With excitement I asked my parents and they both said “yes.” So right away I texted Anita to let her know I could join her Bachata team. I now dance at Lines Dance Studio as a professional chambelan and Bachata
