Myth contains a message that unites all human’s psyche. The more we realize the analogy between it, the more we know how important the myth in facing the modern world. Myth can be the guidance to the future as Jung regard it as true that dreams could brought up knowledge as the basis to stepping to the future, and it could become admonition for future development if people perceive it correctly (Carter 2011, p.447). Therefore, myth was the metaphor of human behavior. However, myth was being intimidated over time as other factors like science and technology start to dominating human life. People tend to face the existential dilemmas of human life if without the helpful crutch of religious dogma. This is also triggered by the rise of secularism in the recurring period which arise from the arrival of science and technology centered people, causing all sorts of spiritual problems. Nowadays, people no longer believe in mythical matters, such as religion, even though they could help people face their life. This then creates a sort of emptiness inside the human psyche that cause the absence of individuation, like losing identity. When this person with no identity is being surrounded by a bigger crowd, he will feel insecure and more nullified thus would only follow what other people do. Then, this group of people without purpose unite as one social group.
