“F*** the Police” is a powerful song produced in the late 90’s.The main issue that this song portrays is that African Americans growing up in urban communities are not treated equally by the law enforcement. The members of N.W.A. lived through the harsh life of the ghetto and experienced the struggles that young black males have growing up in the inner city of Compton, California. In the song, N.W.A. sends a deep message out about police brutality and says a lot about the society from where they came from in terms of race, class, norms, values, culture, and social influences. N.W.A was a group that had five members, Ice Cube, Eazy E, Dr.Dre, Mc Ren and Dj Yella. They got together in 1986. They were so different from other rappers and artists, because they brought a lot to the table and rapped about issues with so much power they had within themselves. In 1988, when their record “Straight Outta Compton” came out, it sold over 10 million cd units just in the United States.(Overman Lori) One of the social people that this song portrays is that cops believe that it is acceptable to abuse their power. Greg Jones said that the letter wasn't to put pressure on the group, or have people to stop playing their song. That in the letter wasn't to just target them but to just stop the hate and negative feed on the police.
