NK v. Botuik, 2020 HRTO 345 This case happened in April Ontario 2020 was issued about the allegations and the sexual harassment of NK (the victim) in her job because she was vulnerable and was being abused by Botuik (defendant) power. Which led to having the HRTO (Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario) taking part in the problem and making things go in a right and proper way. This case took place in Ontario 2020 April, and had happened in the same workplace where NK and Botik both worked. This case is about a woman who is unknown but in the case it is NK and Botik, NK was just a regular employee and Botuik in the establishment was a direct supervisor. The background story was that NK’s past was not as happy and pleasant as it seems. Nk had a difficult childhood and was domestically/sexually abused, because of that she had a horrible drug addiction. She was a single mother with a small child at the time. And should have thought more about the outcome than just giving her money. Yes money can help herself and her family's needs but it doesn’t help the emotional damage. Botiuk should have faced more of a severe punishment because in this case, it doesn’t even sound like he had one in the first place. He should have gotten time in prison for the act he did. Even if he doesn’t think he caused much harm, he should still be held responsible for making a mess of someone’s life. For me it’s surprising that the victim had only gotten money out of all the things she had been through, as this doesn’t fully fix the impact of the tragic event that happened in her life, even though money is helpful it doesn’t always be the solution for
