Across the world, many people struggle with the lost of their loved ones. “Nadia’s grief knew no bounds. She walked blindly through the oasis, neither seeing nor hearing those who would console her.” Going through tough times is hard enough, especially when you are going through it by yourself. The short story “Nadia the Willful” by Sue Alexander has emotions all around in the story. Nadia’s father - Tarik - has banned anyone in the bedouin to mention his lost son's name, Hamed. Nadia is determined to not even say a peep of Hamed’s name. Nadia may have gone against her loved ones in the beginning, but all turned out good in the end.

She went on telling everyone about the memoires of Hamed. Everyone could clearly remember his face and his voice. There was a time in the story when Nadia’s actions were found out by their father. “In the hours that followed, the fear of being banished to the desert made everyone turn away from Nadia as she tried to tell them of Hamed and the things he had done and said.” After the fact that Nadia was banished from the bedouin, she still went on telling people about Hamed. Later on, Nadia asked her father if he could remember Hamed’s voice and his face. Her father couldn’t remember so then Nadia went on In conclusion, Nadia persevered through the toughest times without one of the most important people in her life. “Nadia the Willful” by Sue Alexander teaches us that it is ok to go through the pain when you lose one of the most important people of your life. Throughout the story, we can learn that the tough times all come to an end. It might be hard to get through in the beginning, but you will surely make it to the
