Nantucket. The gloomy dark prison I was forced to call home. 6-year-old me was full force against the very thought of calling it home. Some consider it to be a picture perfect island. With all the crystal clear waves kissing the shore of the beaches it is hard to imagine a better place other than Bora Bora. Well, I’m not some. I did not like being on an isolated island. Sure I was completely biased and didn’t allow Nantucket to prove me wrong. So what. All I knew was that I didn’t like the idea of leaving all my friends and moving to deserted Nantucket. Google Maps barely shows the place! One of the few things that put a smile on my face was playing with my mommy and sister. One of my favorite games was hide-and-seek. “Ta Bom Elisama,” she responded. Yes! We were going to play hide-and-seek! “Elleeeeeeeeeeeen! Let’s play hide-and-seek!” I screamed. “Yaaaaaaay!” was all to be heard from my baby sister. “Quem vai contar?” Mommy asked. Hmmmmmmm. It’s always tough to decide who is going to count. “Me! Me! RUN! “5...” I climbed into the toy bag like a monkey climbing a tree to get a banana. Except I didn’t want a banana I wanted to win hide-and-seek. “3...” Hmm, my face was still showing... “2...” Quickly I pulled an empty pink bin and placed it on my
