Why Is William Pennsylvania A Better Colony

Pennsylvania would be the best colony in England’s North America to live in. I would prefer to live in the Pennsylvania colony because of their success economically, their accepting community of Quakers, their strong government system and finally their agriculture. Pennsylvania was one of the few colonies to have good farming, no use of slaves, and total equality. Compared to other colonies, Pennsylvania is an easy choice of a place to live. William Penn founded and planned out Pennsylvania. A large reason of why Pennsylvania was successful was because of its long planning and recruiting of colonists. The colonial government of Pennsylvania believed in people governing themselves with laws voted in by the people. All of this was made possible by William Penn in 1682 when he published his "frame of government," which was to be submitted to the people of the province for approval. In 1683 this was amended, in the second Assembly of the province, and a charter of liberties granted which made Pennsylvania almost fully a representative democracy. Although still liberal as the constitution. I would much rather live with the Quakers rather than Puritans in Massachusetts. The Puritans did not have social equality; people with other beliefs did not have as much rights as puritans. This also takes place in New York; the textbook says, “property holding and political power remained highly divided and highly unequal in New York” (44). Life would be unfair in these colonies unlike how it is in Pennsylvania. I am also not a fan of slavery. I would not live in a colony like Georgia where the slaves outnumber the settlers and are often worked to death! There are so many faults in other colonies that can not be found
