Angela Arviso Rodriguez is requesting an institutional verification of her linguistic background to apply for a time extension to Pearson. She graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Elementary Education back in 2006. Angela will be taking the NES Elementary Education Subtest I & II. She is the girldfriend of my brother, Chris, and the two of them live down in Orlando, Florida. She was born in Brazil, and the rest of her family currently still resides there. Her teen years weren’t easy, she got pregnant at the age of 15 by her boyfriend Trino Marin. Her parents kicked her out of their house so she went on to live with Trino. She married Trino in 1984 and had two more children with him. She described these 8 years she was married to Trino as a mentally and physically abusive marriage.

In the book "The Scarlet Ibis" and the film Simon Birch they tell the story of a physically impaired boy who puts his disability aside to defy the odds and triumph before ultimately dying. Doodle and Simon were alike and different in various instances, the main themes were; their brother figure, their parents, and the major symbols in the story.

Although Yunior is younger than Beto, he challenges expectations, and instead of moving on with his life, he sticks to what he knows. Rather than conforming to the typical understanding, Yunior challenges this role by proving he has already grown up just in a different period than Beto.

She watches the photos together with her sisters, “eager to see what develops” (173). This is a wonderful part of the story, not only the quality of photos has changed, their family connection also develops. The people in the photos become closer and closer.
The poems in this essay both talk about being a woman. “Phenomenal Woman” by Maya Angelou is about more of a confident woman while “Woman” by Nikki Giovanni is about a woman who wants a man to change for her. The poems though very different, are also similar because they both talk about confidence as a woman. By the end of both poems the narrators both know that they are women who are strong and do not need anyone else 's acceptance but their own. They know their own self worth and that is enough for them.
During the 1900s, there were many famous authors who wrote about African Americans and Civil Rights. This was what was going on during this time period. Segregation and discrimination towards blacks was increasing. Two famous authors were Langston Hughes and Maya Angelou. Langston Hughes wrote the poem “I, Too, Sing America.”
