Animal Farm: How Does Napoleon Stay in charge? Power is used in multiple different ways, in this case it was not used in a positive way. Animals on Animal Farm had wanted to be free from their owner, farmer Jones. The pig, Napoleon, comes to power as a dictator since the pigs are more intellectual than the other animals. Napoleon stayed in power by using the methods of Animalism, Fear, and Propaganda.
Napoleon who was in control in Animal farm is similar to Joseph Stalin. One similarity between Napoleon and Stalin is they would eliminate anyone who would disagree with them or rebel against their rules. In the book Animal Farm Napoleon gets rid of Snowball because they didn't agree on what to do for the farm and he was worried all the animals would side with Snowballs ideas not Napoleons. In the book it states, “They dashed straight for Snowball, who only sprang from his place just in time to escape their snapping jaws,” (Orwell 53). This shows that napoleon felt threatened by Snowball and was worried he would take over the farm so he used his dogs to try to kill Snowball so Napoleon could have no choice but to rule the farm.
Essay 2 How Does Napoleon Stay in Power? Amid the power void at Manor Farm following shortly after the expulsion of Mr. Jones, it is filled by a brutal and tyrannical pig named Napoleon. After several years, the farm starts to flounder under Napoleon after the discharge of Snowball who acts as a counterbalance to Napoleon. Throughout this period of time animals start to question Napoleon's authority over them.
Napoleon made a substantial impact on the way the animals reacted to their new hardships. The pigs, including Napoleon, are said to be the most intelligent animals on the farm, but unlike the others, Napoleon uses it to manipulate the
Don’t be the enemy. Now that Napoleon is in charge life is getting a whole lot worse because is has complete power of Animal Farm. Napoleon from Animal Farm written by Orwell maintains control by using ideology, propaganda, and fear. Napoleon uses ideology of Animalism to give him more control over the animals.
Napoleon, our great and wonderful leader, passed away last Thursday. In his younger years he was the only boar of his family. In fact, he was the only boar on the farm that could reproduce. He was taken under the wing of Old major, another boar, at an early age. He was demanding at times, but that was for a good reason.
I think that Napoleon has made a horrible impact on Animal Farm by being overly selfish and controlling. Napoleon is bad leader because he becomes a dictator and defeats the whole purpose of animalism. Snowball who designed the windmill to decrease the work on the farm for the animals Napoleon increases their work. Napoleon changed policies, he announced that Animal farm will engage and exchange with other farms, humans. He does not work himself,he sleeps in a bed, he even walks on two legs.
In the Animal Farm, two main characters, Napoleon and Boxer. Napoleon is the leader of Animal Farm because all the animals choose Napoleon and to follow Napoleon. Boxer is a hard working animal, he always listens to Napoleon, and get’s brainwashed by Napoleon. All the animals follow Napoleon, but the main one who always follows is Boxer. Napoleon is the leader of Animal Farm, he always thinks about his own self, but does not think of others, when the animals need food he always makes them hungry, and he always treats them as his slave’s.
Napoleon, the dictator of Manor Farm, passed away last thursday. In his early life, he and Snowball, another pig, were chosen after Old Major’s death. Old Major was the Boar that instigated the idea of the revolution. The revolution was started a couple of months after old major’s death. To do that they rallied against their farmer, Mr. Jones, and his men.
Taking this into account, however, I can affirm that Napoleon, a main character in George Orwell’s Animal Farm is not an efficient leader for three reasons. First of all, Napoleon oppresses the animals by force and fear. Some of the animals question his way of governing, but no one can declare so because they are afraid of his crucial punishments. Cunning Napoleon establishes a formidable army which consists of nine dogs. He himself raises these dogs from puppies, separating them from other animals so that they will be his obedient soldiers.
There is Snowball, and Ralph. There is Napoleon, and Jack. Napoleon, and Jack only want power, and use other people for their own good. But Snowball, and Ralph want the best for everyone. Animal Farm is about The Russian Revolution.
He left after the revolution of the animals that Old Major begin. When he died, they begin the rebellion. When the farm was now for the animals, the pigs took the control of it. Napoleon begin to be in competition with Snowball, because he had a lot of idea, others liked him and he was the pig that decided the most.
The animals still shocked of what they just saw from the house decided to return back to the barn. Clover and Benjamin were the most surprised at what they had just seen. They could not tell the difference between humans and pigs anymore. They knew that they had to do something but didn't know what. Clover didn't have much brains but that night she sat in the stall and thought about what she could do the help fix this problem until she feel asleep.
Furthermore, Napoleon gives the other animals the impression he was the sole leader of the rebellion on Animal farm and makes Snowball -a leader who wanted what was best for the animals- seem like an enemy who was in cahoots with Farmer Jones since long before the animals took over the farm. Napoleon and Squealer (another “fat cat” pig.) always put the blame on Snowball whenever something went wrong in the farm to avoid having the blame fall on them. Napoleon is an exemplary example of just how selfish and hypocritical people can be in furthering their own aims because he continued to subtly but purposely change the seven rules put in place as the pillars of animalism. For example, Napoleon and the other pigs move into Farmer Jones’s house and sleep in his bed after commanding “No animal shall sleep in a bed”, so he changes the commandment to read “no animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets”.
The two characters Napoleon and Snowball specifically, Napoleon’s name is very well the reflection of the man, who ruled and overthrow everybody and became a great dictator and emperor of France and in the same way Tsar Nicholas 2 completely forgot about the ideal which people have dreamt in him. On the other hand, the animals brought their own disgrace unconsciously in the name of revolution which went wrong. Snowball and Napoleon in Animal Farm presumably symbolize the dark times of Russia. Nineteenth century was the time when the dissatisfaction was spread like a fire against the imperial government in Russia. The Russians who were from middle class wanted political reformation against working conditions of industry, which were almost sub-human, they wanted it against the poverty and some other major issues.
