What do you think of when you think of October? Black cats? Witches? Many people think of Halloween, but that is not the only holiday in this month. Two very important holidays take place in this month:
“She’s not waking up”, I say as I look at my Mama whimpering in the corner. So I listen to her heart beat there is nothing. “She’s dead Mama ”, I whimper. I know why she passed its all my fault I said she didn’t have a mask for her
One day my sister Dakota, my uncle Raven, my mom, and I went to a farm the day before Halloween. At first we were just going to get a few pumpkins but then, I saw a corn maze. I asked my mom “ Can we go in it, please,” My mom said,” If it is free.” I told her thanks. We went to a pumpkin patch to get a couple pumpkins.
This book is about a ten year old boy named Alonzo King. Alonzo is fascinated by monsters and the show monsters at midnight. This occurred on Jimmy’s seventh Halloween; it started several days before this holiday. Excitement took over him, the thought about going to every single house in the neighborhood to get candy. The mother of this young child had bought a banana costume for him, which she thought was cute. At school, Jimmy won the costume contest and his friend Tommy won second place with his hit dog costume. After school jimmy’s mother picked him up, and he would not stop talking about getting a lot of candies.
Halloween and Day of the Dead, despite their similarities, are very different. They are similar because they both have sugary treats and they are different because they are celebrated in different ways, and the preparation of the holidays are different. Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated in Mexico, and Central America where people celebrate their ancestors souls and bring them some of their favorite things to their graves and throw many parties. Halloween is a day when children go out in costumes to trick-or-treat for candies and other sugary items, people also setup decorations outside their houses that look go along with the holiday.
The Day of the Dead and Halloween are alike in many ways. During the Day of the Dead, people dress in costumes and celebrate their dead loved ones returning to them. Similarly, on Halloween, people also dress in costumes and go “Trick or Treating”. Both holidays also come from Catholic roots, and believe the veil between the living and dead worlds is thinnest on these days. During the Day of the Dead celebrations, people cook, eat, and have a party, similar to what others do on Halloween.
"I can feel my mom's hand on my shoulder. I look up, and she's standing next to me. She always knows when I need her. She takes my hand, and I feel a little better. I love my parents so much.
Page 47 reads as a scene set at August’s school, where his English teacher defines the word “precept” on the whiteboard. His declaration vaguely suggests that precepts are rules about “really important things”. This results in an unsuccessful class brainstorm covering nearly everything but what Mr Browne is looking for. “What kind of person are you? Isn’t that the most important thing of all?”
Halloween is one of the biggest celebrations days in United States, is a yearly holiday observed around the world on October 31. This day is special and kind of very funny, because they wear many different and crazy customs and even though we don’t have the Halloween in my home town and I always wonder how the idea of Holloween started. But I enjoy it here with my friends. We go out and we do parties, doesn’t matter to any difference between our traditions or religion. In this day a lot of things happen and there are a lot of activities to do even if you are adult or kid.

On halloween night three 32 year old witches, Brittany, Sarah, and Carley, decided to go out into the local town to terrorize children. Brittany is a blond witch, very nice, and is very compassionate which is very unusual for a witch! Sarah is a redhead; she is a mean, nasty witch. Carly, on the other hand, does anything that Sarah tells her to. She doesn’t think for herself.
In Ireland, a game called Puicíní (pronounced "poocheeny") is held, in which a blindfolded person is seated in front of a table with several saucers placed on top of it. The saucers are shuffled and the seated person is required to choose on by touching on it. The contents of the saucer will tell the individual’s life for the following year. If the saucer with “earth” was selected, it means that someone known to the player will die during the following year; a saucer containing a ring foretells marriage, water foretells emigration, a bean foretells poverty, a coin foretells wealth, a set of Rosary beads means that the person will take Holy Orders (becoming a priest or a nun), and so forth.
It’s your last Halloween in high school, don’t you want to dress up a little more?” “The only thing I want is to leave- plus you’re probably going to get sent home so better call mom and tell her you’ll need a ride.”
Friday the 13th This day is known for its bad luck according to superstitions since the middle ages till today. Friday the 13th is said to be an evil day but it can be a good day, all depending on what you're able to survive and how you decide to spend the day. I don't have a problem with the day and date, so I am not scared when people talk about . The fear of the number 13 dates back to 16000, the myth played an important role in making the number 13 a bad number since the 1600's.
