Personality is molded by the thoughts and beliefs of the parents and the people you surround yourself with. Life events also have a big impact on personality. With that in mind, no I don't believe personality is stable across a life span. I am Oglala Lakota. There are many times when my people had to go through unjust situations. So many treaties broken. After hearing about the past, I learned from a young age that the justice system is corrupt and should not be trusted and because of that I feel a hatred to everyone who are part of that system. Late one night my dad left a bar, by himself, and started walking home. For some reason, two black men followed him. I believe he was drunk so he had two disadvantages. They beat him so badly that he was almost unrecognizable. My dad had to go to the hospital. After that, his siblings began to feel hatred to all black people. One thing I was told is that I should never bring a black man to my reservation. I believe our personality changes significantly as we age.
