I walked the path that made my way back home, but the forest surrounding me and the guard is unfamiliar. It’s all thanks to my new transfer from my previous home. He has an average Asian face. He’s wearing a white buttoned-up trench coat, the collar folded. Accompanied by black pants that matched his shoes.
I slowed down, so I could study him better, but when I did this he slowed down. He began to analyze me as though I had become a threat but a fork appeared in the gravel. The sign we passed 30 minutes ago reappeared, it was still pointing in three directions. A sign marked the Gravel Road, and I stepped in front of it, reading the different places. “You’re supposed to turn here like how we turned left when we began walking, remember?”
