What defines happiness in your life? Dominique Christina wrote about Natasha Hastings in her “Unlike Any” series. Hastings felt unseen and overshadowed, but she built herself up and found the confidence to be herself. Natasha Hastings feels heard and seen by the public. By asking the world if they can see her shows how she wants people to feel her presence and see who she is. Another example uses a metaphor stating “I- / Ambassador I- / Firestarter I- / Rainmaker I- figured out how to fly” (Lines 8-11). These lines are her telling the people she's finally made it. She has found herself and happiness from within. After feeling overshadowed by other sports and people, she has faced obstacles to becoming who she is today. By using metaphors in “Unlike Any: For Natasha Hastings” it shows how confident she has gotten in finding her happiness and motivation. In “Radio” by Lana Del Ray, through metaphors and similes, illustrates the happiness she felt after finding her missing piece/significant other. By using metaphors, Lana Del Ray shows how alive she now feels mentally, saying “Not even they can stop me now / Boy, I’ll be flying overhead / Their heavy words can't bring me down / Boy, I’ve been raised from the dead" (Lines 1-4).
