The following is a two-part project designed to help me understand the IEP Goal development process. It includes an interview with a current special education teacher and her role in the IEP goal development process. The second part is an analysis of case study. It requires writing IEP goals for it using the Common Core Standards, developing an PBS for the student and creating an accommodation analysis based on the students needs in the case study. Knowing their needs is important to adapt the practices and to respect them as individuals. According to the author (Raymond, 2012), the perception of the students about the services they receive determine the outcome of the education efforts. Good morning Sarah, SPSY 510 (psy of exceptional children) goes into the 13 categories of disabilities in which students may be placed for special education. It's a lot of work, but it is a 8 week class. We meet Tuesdays from 5pm to 10pm. For the most part, two students present a chapter (yesterday I had a presentation on speech and language impairment and another lady talked about autism).
The Salem Witch Trials were held in Salem, Massachusetts during the end of 1692 and the beginning of 1693. These were a series of trials and prosecutions of suspected witches. Most of these supposed witches were women, but some were men. These people were accused of making local children ill by practicing witchcraft. The children claimed to be possessed by the devil and gave names of witches who did this to them.
The U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) is a program that was designed to teach high school students citizenship values, personal responsibility, and leadership all while using a military structure to teach students teamwork and self discipline. JROTC prepares the future of our nation to be a law abiding citizens in society. With the passage of the National Defense Act of 1916, JROTC was born. Today, in the 21st century, JROTC differs from 100 years ago. Without a doubt, JROTC will change in the 22nd century to adapt to social norms like today.
I loved this program, because it allowed me to get out there in my community and help give people with mental and/ or physical disabilities, live out there dream. From being a unified partner with their bowling team, to being a unified runner on their Track and field team, to just giving my time as a volunteer helping with the events logistics, it is one program, I am glad i'm affiliated

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is a federal law enacted in 1990 and reauthorized in 1997 and 2004. It is designed to protect the rights of students with disabilities by ensuring that everyone receives a free appropriate public education (FAPE), regardless of ability. Furthermore, IDEA strives not only to grant equal access to students with disabilities, but also to provide additional special education services and procedural safeguards. In the program, there are students with learning disabilities, students with autism, nonverbal students, students with behaviors, and much more. There are students right here at CHS that have these disabilities and most students here do not understand how to interact with them. Also for those of you who are future parents, you never know what the future holds and you could have a child with disabilities. Special Education is an umbrella title for an educational department that focuses on the rehabilitation of students and providing services for students who require extra academic support to be successful in the current school setting but are also in need of learning life skills that will help them to be successful later. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines special education as “classes or instruction designed for students with special educational needs” (Merriam-webster.com, 2017). To assist students with disabilities, the United States government continues to use the current reauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) of 2004 which is currently known as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of December 2015
A Philosophy of Special Education The profession of teaching can be challenging at times. It is a constant juggling act of ongoing responsibilities; including classroom management, engagement, and curriculum. Add in the prospect of teaching multiple students with special needs and it is downright overwhelming.
Their roles is to plan, coordinate, schedule, and evaluate curriculum and instructional outcomes within a secure, positive, and enriched inclusive classroom environment. Their main responsibility is to provide instructional schedule and long range plan information. On the other hand, special education teachers have to design their lessons plans to fit each of the individual’s needs. Their main role is to provide instruction and support which facilitate the participation of students with disabilities in special education classrooms, but also in regular education classrooms. Their principal responsibility is to serve as case managers and be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of their students.
Importance of nurses A nurse is a health care professional who is engaged in the practice of nursing. Nurses are men and women who are responsible (along with other health care professionals) for the treatment, safety and recovery of acutely or chronically ill or injured people, health maintenance of the healthy, and treatment of life-threatening emergencies in a wide range of health care settings. Nurses may also be involved in medical and nursing research and perform a wide range of non-clinical functions necessary to the delivery of health care. Nurses develop a plan of care, sometimes working collaboratively with physicians, therapists, the patient, the patient 's family and other team members.
