Renewable energy is an alternative source of energy that is not only dependable and affordable but it also benefits our economy and environment. Our nation should encourage and produce cleaner energy from natural sources including the wind, sun and water and from innovative new processes, such as waste-to-energy conversion, biomass conversion and fuel cells. Implementing energy efficiency programs and policies in every state is one of the most affordable approaches to confront our nation’s high-energy prices, energy security and freedom, air contamination and global climate change. At this juncture, the President’s leadership and authority is a key component and can be used to aggressively encourage the country to realize its energy efficiency ability and how it can develop the economy, the environment, and improve our overall national security. Overall, energy efficient policies will significantly reduce carbon emissions and save billions of dollars
