Our management of the environment of care looks at how safe, functional environment within the hospital so that quality and safety are preserved. The environment of care is made up of the building or space, including how it is arrange and special features that protect patients, visitors and staff. It also encompasses the equipment used to support patients and the people, including employees, patients and visitors (The Joint Commission, 2013).
SAFETY IN THE NURSING PROFESSION It is the belief of many medical professionals that proper safety protocols in the medical environment is paramount. There is nothing more important in a hospital setting than overall safety. This goes for both patient safety as well as the safety of the hospital staff.
