INTRODUCTION NATURE This refers to all the evolutionary factors that have that have shaped the genetics that we inherit from our parents. Nature determine the range of our human potential.Naturists believe that the knowledge humans have about the world is innate. Therefore human development is largely determined by heredity. NURTURE This refers to all the things that have influenced us since we began to grow. Nurture affects the way our human potential is actualized. Empiricists believe that is the environment which shapes and influences human behaviour. Over the years there has been a controversy among psychologist on which one of the two contribute more to behaviour genes or environment. Some researchers emphasized the exclusive role of genetic …show more content…

Genes act at a cellular level in the development and maintenance of the structure that do have positive or negative effect for behaviour. Psychological Geneticists have stated that interaction between nature and nurture is of a complex category. Human development cannot be fully understood without proper knowledge and understanding of the interaction between internal and external variables on personality, it is obvious that human behavior is an experience of a life span. Thus, our ideas about life and the way we react to the situation around us is as a results of interaction between different biological and environmental factors such as genetics, social norms, core faith, and attitude. In addition, Bronfenbrenner, 1979 and Lerner, 2002 “expressed a similar position that human behavior cannot be fully understood without mentioning the changing relationship between human and the contextual environment”. The milieu according to reviewed studies is the inner biological levels while outer are the social and environmental …show more content…

Some of the traits become less notable dependent upon the environment the animal is placed in (Nurture)”. When observing a dog of a different breed one can see behaviour that can be identified as being specific to the breed. In mixed breed dogs the dominant genetic behaviour can be readily identifiable to a specific breed. Some dogs are very laid back, a child can pull on their ear and the dog just won’t react, this could be a genetic disposition. However if the same dog was beaten or traumatized in some way (Nurture) the dog may even bite the child. There are some breeds that do not do well with children and some are naturally aggressive. If a dog is in a good home its entire life and is healthy any aggressive traits are most likely genetic. CONCLUSION It is evidently established in various methodological approaches on nature and nurture interaction that human behavior and personality is highly influenced by genetic and environmental factors. At the same time reviewed literature on twin, adoption, and family studies offered clear evidence on how heredity and environment contributes to human behavior and their personality. Therefore Human behaviour is therefore the interactions between hereditary and environmental
