Who is Nefertiti? Some might say she is the loving wife of Akhenaten, some might say she was the most power hungry and ambitious person. The story, Akhenaten: Dweller in Truth by Naguib Mahfouz, takes place in ancient Egypt when Akhenaten held the throne. Throughout the book, there are many discrepancies regarding the personality of Nefertiti. In my opinion, Nefertiti is the most insidious person and all she really wanted was power for her.

Unlike most of the pharaohs, she became a leader because her father had passed away and had no sons (in their bloodline) to inherit the leadership. She had married Thutmose II who was her half brother and only 3 years old in order for him to become a pharaoh. Due to his young age she had ruled in his name until he was at an age when he would be able to rule.

She was at the end of her life span of course when she was gobbled up by, your’s truly. She did have a good flavor though. She was to be devoured because she had her best friend executed for stealing bread, that’s just cruel.
