The top of the social hierarchy at the time were the white South Africans. They held control from the government and kept the other groups in a constant state of oppression. These other groups included Indian people, “colored” people, and black people.

Desmond Tutu is a perfect example of an effective leader. There are many qualities that all effective leaders must possess such as, communication skills, passion, vision, and commitment. Desmond Tutu is the most effective leader because he was passionate, hardworking, and devoted to making a change in the world.
On July 18, 1918, Nelson Mandela was born in Mveso, Transkei, South Africa to Noqaphi Nosekeni and Gadla Henry Mphakanyiswa. In Qunu he went to a school where his teacher gave him the name Nelson because of the tradition of giving children that attended the school christian names. When his father died the king of his tribe took him in as a favor to Nelson’s father, who had helped him become king of the tribe. The king was mad when he came back to the Great Place at Mqhekezweni and said that he would arrange marriages for Nelson and Justice, the king’s son and Nelson’s cousin.

NELSON MANDELA Nelson Mandela is one of the influence people in the 20th century politics. He was the first black president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999 and elected by fully representative democratic election. He was also a politician, an activist, fighting against HIV/AIDS in Africa, promoting global peace and South African anti apartheid revolutionary. One thing that he did for the Africans and affects the world was about to end the apartheid, a system that try to separated the races of black skin over white skin people in South Africa. Because of him right now there is no differentiate between those people again.
As a transformational leader I have chosen Nelson Mandela due to the fact that he motivates his followers to accomplish through charisma and inspiration. Nelson Mandela is a well knows leader who is loved not only by his own people, but to people around the world because he fought for South Africa during apartheid time. Nelson Mandela inspired his followers to work toward extremely intimidating accomplishments like ending apartheid in South Africa.
