New technology and tactics transformed warfare. It has changed due to the world's growing connectives, including alliances, trade, and other circumstances. However, those who fall victim, remain the same because world leaders don’t involve themselves with the warfare, they engage by using minimal interaction and create more chaos throughout history. Exhibited from mustard gas during trench warfare during WWI, then during WWII, the US dropping the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, and the Vietnam War, a proxy war, the evolution of warfare reflects opposing sides wanting to distance themselves and their enemies.

After the dropping of the atomic bomb, both the U.S. and USSR started to develop atomic bombs, however using them would be catastrophic, instead, they engaged in proxy wars one of which was the Vietnam War. The new type of warfare allowed world powers to fight each other but not directly, Vietnam fell victim to the U.S. and USSR war, with around 2 million casualties while the two world powers were far less. The U.S. and USSR fought by providing help to one side. Proxy wars may have benefited the larger countries but greatly impacted smaller countries. The world powers never suffered the consequences of warfare compared to others, they could control certain areas and have them battle while they didn't interact the same way they did with conventional warfare. While the U.S. and USSR’s detachment of being near the battlefield benefited their own country it only created more problems for Vietnam. Proxy Wars is an example of warfare changing, the Vietnam War is an example of how warfare has changed to involve more countries while having the superpowers in control and not directly battling, the evolution shows the destruction taking over the country and emphasizes the evolving war
