Night Name: Nayeli Brown Persuasive Essay. “If in my lifetime I was to write only one book, this would be the one.” Elie Wiesel wrote the book Night to tell his story as a survivor of the Holocaust. This book goes into deep detail about how his experience from one concentration camp to another changed his life in many different ways from the beginning to the end. As a result, Elie is a dynamic character because he begins to question his faith in God, his attitude changed towards his father, and he became less innocent. First, Elie begins to question his faith in God. During Rosh Hashanah, as the other men gather and pray, Elie says he feels like a stranger to the religion. Elie decides to rebel against God by not fasting like the others on the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur. As Elie and the Jews are forced to watch other prisoners being hanged, the men question where God is and why he is allowing this. When Idek hits his father, Elie is more mad at his father than Idek and does nothing to help him. As Elie starts thinking about his father’s survival, he starts to think about leaving his father to die. After the Block oldest told him to stop worrying about his father, Elie realized he was right and started thinking about how he could have more without his father. After Elie finds out his father died on January 29th, he feels more relieved than sad or
