1. Teleradiology and “nightwalking”: Teleradiology is the transmission of radiological patient images, such as CAT scans, MRIs, or X-Rays. The images are transmitted to doctors and scientists in various locations for better interpretation and and suggestions in diagnosis. Nighthawking is the outsourcing of the images to another person. Usually, the term is used when the images are being sent overseas. An interesting part of nighthawking is that the receiver of the images never actually have communication with the patient, just the patient’s doctor.
