The assessment was given after the conclusion of the learning segment. Students’ had plenty of practice locating text features throughout the learning segment. We began our learning segment with students’ learning about the different text features then we define them. In our first learning task we match text feature with definition. In our second lesson we practice locating different text features using a variety of nonfiction text then we wrote down the information they provided the reader about the topic. The students clearly showed that had an understanding of the literacy strategy and how to use it correctly to answer the given assessment questions. A common error students’ made on the assessment include students’ not reading the direction, missing information need to answer the questions. For example students B, able to use the text feature to answer the questions but she neglected to include the page were she found the text feature ad she did not use a complete sentence to answer a question, therefore I was not able to give her full credit. As for my three focus students’ labeled student A, B, and C They did not show any significant problem in understanding the use of text features as a search tool to answer questions. However two of my focus students B and C had incorrectly answered some questions but it was not the use of the text features that was the issues for them in obtaining full credit for their work. Students A is one of the higher preforming students in the class he answered all questions correctly earning full credit. I had little feedback for him on the
