I was born and raised in Weslaco, Texas. My parents are Norma and Robert Vera Jr. I was raised by both of my parents throughout my childhood and adolescence. From the beginning of my life they imposed respect and God into me. They never let me disrespect them or others. No matter how much I did not like it then, I am glad they did. My parents had me when my father was 18 and my mom was 23 years of age. They met at the church they both attended when they were young. My mothers maiden name is Norma Alvarez. She worked as a secretary for my grandfather, her father, Homero Alvarez. He has a construction company that makes curbs and gutters and sidewalks for parking lots and subdivisions. My father's name is Robert Vera Jr, He worked for my grandfather, Homero Alvarez, for a while as a supervisor until he started his own construction company, RBR Contractors. He did most of the stuff my grandfather's company does but he also did utilities and asphalt paving for streets and parking lots for businesses. Both of my parents have made many sacrifices. I mostly remember my father making most of the physical sacrifices. He would wake up early to go to work and get home after 6pm sometimes. I wasn’t really a burden I was a good kid. I would listen to my parents since I was afraid of what would happen if I did not. I knew they would get mad at me by either taking away something, timeout, or by spanking me. My home is not the nicest but it isn't the worst, I like my home because I feel comfortable in it and I also feel love. My house is made
