North Carolina’s abbreviation is N.C. , N.C. could also mean no comment. North Carolina’s motto is pretty diverse and cool. It is one of my favorite motto’s. North Carolina’s song is called “The Old North State”. The meaning to their song is “not that life will drastically improve, but when the question arises regarding the origin of the term Tar Heel.” The nerd side will silence the conversation as others wonder how the answer was acquired. North Carolinas’s nickname is “The Tar Heel State.” The nickname given by a legend during the U.S. Civil War, of the state's importance on the Confederate side, and the fact the troops "stuck to their ranks like they had tar on their heels". The term "Tar Heel" gained popularity during the Civil War. North Carolina has a significant amount people in their state. They have a total of 9.944 million people living there. North Carolina has a decent amount of races, White, Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian and American Indian. North Carolina’s governor is Pat McCrory, R and has 13 U.S. Representatives.
