The Korean Peninsula comprises of North Korea which is governed by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and South Korea which is governed by the Republic of korea.

Korean Peninsula was a single political entity until the end of World War II.
After the World War II, Americans controlled south of the line which later became the South Korea and the Russia installed communist regime in the North. After the cold war between the two country, North Korea remained as a communist country which is ruled by three generation of the same family Kim Il-Sung, Kim Jong-Il,Kim Jong-Un, whereas South Korea became a democratic country.
The difference in ideology between these two countries have resulted in numerous conflicts in the Korean Peninsula.
