Michael McCaul said this in 2018, “Because there are little to no consequences for conducting cyber attacks, criminals and nation-states are becoming bolder in their threats and behavior. Russia, China, North Korea and Iran are increasingly hacking into U.S. companies and government networks for espionage purposes or financial gain”. ("Michael McCaul Quotes.”). Although many nations do it the one that stands out the most to the U.S is North Korea because of their constant grudge and threats towards the U.S but how did this grudge come to be. With the start of the Korean war North Korea was a communist part of the peninsula and wanted to claim the peninsula under communist rule. However the South didn’t want that and they tried to rebel with 400,000 men, maintained that strength only by a steady flow of hastily trained replacements, and sustained an estimated 850,000 combat casualties. The United States Army in Korea ultimately numbered some 300,000 men, supported by about 50,000 Marine, Air Force, and Navy combatants. With there ferocious push they caused the border to move back and forth many miles through the fight but in the end it landed on the 38th-parallel (“Korean War”). So instead they settled for false peace and had a truce fire. However it didn’t last that long, Till this date the border is still heavily armed and tense because of violations with the truce. One of these violations is when the Russian North Korean alliance attacked the border. They broke off the truce talks. General Van Fleet launched an attack against them and won then the communists reopened the truce talks. There were also many pettie attacks against the border. After these attacks they were able to finally set up a six party meeting with the bigger nations involved with the incident. With in the six party talks they made a agreement to stop the attacks and to start with neutrality. However despite the attempts to make peace the U.S. and North Korea wasn’t able to reach a agreement with nuclear weapons. Till this day they still haven’t reached a conclusion and the tension keeps going higher and higher. China, Russia, South Korea, Japan, North Korea and the United States were the nations involved. This was very favorable to the U.S. because China was afraid to start conflict with the rest of the world and Russia felt the same with the U.S. although these two are manly communist nations they wanted the conflict to stop and the peace between the North and the South to come
