2.1 Definition of a Project
“A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result. The temporary nature of projects means that a project has a definite beginning and an end” (Project Management Institute, 2013)
2.2 Definition of Project Management
According to the Project Management Institute (2013), “Project Management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirements. According to the CDC DSAT APHIS Agriculture Select Agent Program (2012), “Information security means protecting information and information systems from unauthorized access,use, disclosure,disruption, modification,recording or destruction of data. Information security is concerned with the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data regardless of the form (i.e., electronic (cyber) or print (hardcopy))” It is extremely important to protect information, no matter the medium or form of storage and access.

According to Knapp (2005), InfoSec poses threats to organizations globally. Since IT is an indispensable part of businesses, information should be given the utmost security ever before. “Security occurrences can cost companies between $17 and $28 million per incident” (Garg, et al 2003).
According to Professional Information Security communities (2007), “Threats (or “threat sources”) are the actors or situations that might deliberately or accidentally exploit vulnerabilities causing information security incidents” Some of the InfoSec threats identified by Professional Information Security communities (2007) include:
• Organized crime who use identity theft and extortion to sponsor criminal activities
• Cyber criminals who are able to direct or influence others to do their bidding
• Programmers who develop malicious programs
• Phishers who target individuals with carefully crafted attacks
• Employees who cause or fail to prevent vulnerabilities to information
