Nuclear power stations produce a huge amount of energy for the quality of raw fuel used, but dangerous situations arise when this energy isn’t controlled properly. The containment of radioactive waste from spent fuel rods also poses a long-term problem. I will be telling you some facts about Nuclear power. Here are some pros and cons of this energy source. One of the substances they use to create the heat in a reactor is Uranium Fuel. This substance consists of solid ceramic pellets. They produce electricity through a process called fission. The reactor gets heat through a physical process. This process, fission, is the splitting of uranium atoms. That’s how the reactor gets heat. They are rare but when they do happen things get out of hand fast. They could also be a prime target for a terrorist attack. Destroying or damaging the control center could leave the population in danger of radiation.

The places in which the uranium ore is mined are Canada, Australia, Niger, and Kazakhstan. The ways that they extract the uranium ore from earths crust are the following: surface, or sub-surface. The surface way is just a conditional open-pit mine. Sub-surface is an underground cave that has ore in it.
